My dad loves cars. He’s also owned a lot of them. Long before the two Porsches in our garage today — a 911 GT3 Touring and a 718 GT4 RS with a Manthey kit — there was a long line of sports cars and everyday cars, and almost every one of them sold for less than he paid. His explanation is always the same: each purchase “made sense.” My mom has stopped buying it.
I built this site to settle the argument with real data. Heritage Motor Registry tracks what cars actually cost to own over time — how fast they depreciate, which ones hold their value, and which ones quietly drain your bank account. The goal is simple: replace car-buying stories with car-buying evidence.
Outside of spreadsheets and listings, I play tennis and love being around cars, watching them, and being on the sim.
